Although I like the cap, I would have liked it to fit a little more snugly on my head. The string doesn't exactly allow you to pull it tight enough because it doesn't move within the cap. You just have to pull it tighter. It’s great for sleeping in, but I was looking for something more snug because it doesn't stay in place. It slides back too easily.
The satin lined undercap is great for hair protection but the back of it gives a bulky look to your hijab. The band in the back doesn't tighten so when looking at myself in the mirror I can see both sides popping out giving a bulky look to my hijab. The front also is not smooth. Looks like it needs ironing but even ironing does not fix it. Just not a smooth seam as depicted in pictures. The bamboo tube undercap I bought is VERY tight and also not a smooth seam either. I was actually very disappointed in that one.
I love this satin lined cap, I didn’t know what I was missing. Since I received it, I have worn it almost everyday. I am buying more for myself in other colors beside black, and buying some for my family members and friends. I have a mixed grade of very curly hair, not too thick, and about 3 inches past my shoulders. I brush my hair into a low bun, tie this cap on, and my hair stays in place all day and is silky smooth, shiny, and in place any time I take it off to do wudu or at the end of the day. To me it’s the perfect look under hijab or just to wear around the house. I just don’t sleep in it because it slides off. But I am very satisfied with this purchase, and all of my purchases from Voile Chic.
This undercap feels good but it always slips back when trying to put it on. This is because it cannot hold lots of hair that is waist length or long in general. So it does not cover the front part of my hair when I tie it in a bun. It pushes the cap back and there is nothing that can fix it. So unfortunately I can't wear my hair in a bun when wearing it so doesn't meet my needs.
